NVIDIA Announces The GeForce GTX 1050 Series
NVIDIA this morning is expanding the Pascal family with the announcement of the GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti lower-cost graphics cards.
The GTX 1050 will start at $109 USD while the GTX 1050 Ti will start at $139. These lower-end Pascal cards are still slated to be good enough for eSports gaming and designed for 1080p performance at 60FPS with "good quality settings." The 1050 cards will consume 75 Watts or less -- no external PCI-E power required.
The GTX 1050 has 640 CUDA cores and 2GB GDDR5 memory while the GTX 1050 Ti has 768 CUDA cores with 4GB GDDR5. The boost clock on the 1050 Ti is 1392Mhz while the boost on the GTX 1050 is 1455MHz. These cards should be a nice upgrade over the GTX 950 and especially the GTX 750 series. The GTX 1050 Ti will begin shipping worldwide on 25 October while the GTX 1050 will begin shipping on 8 November (great birthday present!).
I'll have GTX 1050 Linux benchmarks on Phoronix when the cards are available. Until then you can learn more at NVIDIA.com.
