ARB_transform_feedback_overflow_query In The Pipe For Intel Mesa
While Intel's at OpenGL 4.5 compliance in Mesa with their open-source graphics driver, there remain a number of modern extensions that aren't currently mandated by an OpenGL version number, among them is ARB_transform_feedback_overflow_query.
On top of the other remaining OpenGL extensions being worked on by Intel's open-source crew, the latest patch series published on Friday night is for ARB_transform_feedback_overflow_query. The ARB_transform_feedback_overflow_query extension was an optional extension for OpenGL 4.5.
As explained via the OpenGL.org registry, "This extension adds new query types which can be used to detect overflow of transform feedback buffers. The new query types are also accepted by conditional rendering commands."
With these patches by Intel's Rafael Antognolli, the extension is wired up for the i965 Mesa driver plus a few changes to core Mesa code. Presumably this will land in time for the Mesa 13.1/17.0 release in early 2017.
