How Ubuntu 16.04 Is Performing Compared To Five Other Linux Distributions
Onto some computational tests...
There wasn't much deviation in the MAFFT results, but Clear Linux and Ubuntu 16.04 were again on top.
The Go language benchmarks put the Clear Linux, Ubuntu 15.10, and Fedora 23 performance close to the same. Ubuntu 16.04 didn't run the Go benchmark due to a problem with the upstream Go test. CentOS 7's Go implementation was much slower than the newer distribution releases.
In some computational tests, there isn't much change in performance across the tested 2016 Linux distributions.
