Like the Rustlang performance, Tensorflow on the CPUs was another workload where the AMD processors were slower than the Intel CPUs -- possibly due to its slower AVX performance. Granted, most people these days are just running Tensorflow on GPUs.

The Intel systems with Ubuntu 18.10 / Linux 4.19 were having a small advantage in raw performance with the PostgreSQL database server performance, should you intend to use a Core i9 or Threadripper as a web development workstation. But for real-world hosting, you're certainly better off with a Xeon or EPYC.

The Sysbench CPU performance was very good on the Threadripper parts and even led to the performance-per-Watt on the 2970WX and higher-end SKUs being a great deal faster than the Intel Core i9 parts.
