For this initial testing I was running the Ryzen 7 1700 CPU in the same setup as the Ryzen 7 1800X so far: the MSI X370 XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM motherboard, Corsair 2 x 8GB DDR4-2133 memory, 256GB Intel 600p NVMe SSD, and Radeon R9 Fury graphics card.

The same operating system as used throughout testing was the Ubuntu 17.04 x86_64 development snapshot with the Linux 4.10 kernel and GCC 6.3.0. See yesterday's Ryzen 7 1800X Linux review for more details on Linux compatibility/distribution comments and more.

These results were compared to a variety of other systems in our lab / benchmarking test farm. All of the benchmarks were done in a fully-automated and reproducible manner using the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software.
