AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Linux Benchmarks: Great Multi-Core Performance For $329

First up with the LAMMPS scientific test, the Ryzen 7 1700 was performing between the speed of a Core i7 5960X Haswell-E and Core i7 6800K Broadwell-E, not bad for a $329 processor! But the Core i7 7700K that retails for just $350 USD was better for this single-threaded test.

With FFTW, the Ryzen 7 1700 was running a bit faster than the Core i5 6600K but behind the Core i7 4790K.

With John The Ripper we have a first look at the multi-threaded performance of the Ryzen 7 1700. The Ryzen 7 1700 was running with the Core i7 6800K for the John The Ripper test, which is leveraging OpenMP for taking advantage of all CPU cores/threads. The Core i7 6800K is still retailing for above $400 USD.

With another multi-threaded test, TTSIOD 3D Renderer, the Ryzen 7 1700 continues showing off as a good $329 USD processor for multi-core performance.
