For those doing Node.js development on your desktop, the Zen 4 processors perform much better than prior Zen 3 processors while Intel Alder Lake was coming in strong there for these basic Node.js tasks. If actually running a production workload with many concurrent users off your desktop CPU, the AMD Ryzen processors with their higher core/thread counts would likely come ahead but for those just doing single-user development/testing like with these benchmarks is where Intel holds its ground.
Likewise if you are thinking about setting up a Ryzen 7000 series desktop as a "small office / home office" server, Zen 4 does provide significantly better performance in areas like database workloads.
Across a wide variety of workloads tested, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and 7900X were showing terrific generational uplift on Linux.
