AMD Radeon Gallium3D Is Catching Up & Sometimes Beating Catalyst On Linux
This is a look at the CPU usage for the tested Valve Linux games that show overall the CPU usage was higher with Catalyst than the R600/RadeonSI Gallium3D drivers.
When the Catalyst driver was loaded, the tested GPUs tended to be a bit more power efficient than under the open-source driver code.
