Lastly were the synthetic tests of GpuTest. The Catalyst driver was still the fastest driver configuration used for this AMD A10-7800 APU with Radeon R7 Graphics. However, the latest open-source AMD driver code is showing performance improvements over a stock (X)Ubuntu 14.10 installation.

Once the big new Catalyst Linux driver update is out, which is supposed to bring performance improvements for at least newer AMD GPUs, you can expect to find plenty of new performance benchmarks on Phoronix to see where the AMD Linux OpenGL performance situation stands.
