With the latest open-source driver code, the numbers aren't too different comparatively against our testing in months prior with slightly older Linux kernel and Mesa versions. The major difference now though is the working re-clocking for the GeForce 600/700 series hardware so these GPUs are performing much better although not yet at their top frequencies (aside from the GTX 650).

The GeForce 400/500 Fermi support remains slow until that re-clocking is supported by Nouveau -- until then the GeForce 9 series GPUs are largely better due to their higher boot clock frequencies.

AMD Radeon hardware remains generally the best bet for open-source gamers.
