CentOS Stream ISA Optimized Packages Show Great Results On Intel Xeon Emerald Rapids
I for one am very hopeful Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 will go full bore on x86-64-v3 packages. There are nice gains in performance with x86-64-v3 -- as we've also seen with x86-64-v3 packages on other Linux distributions -- and realistically those pre-AVX/AVX2 servers still in production in 2025+ are probably unlikely to be upgraded to RHEL 10 as they are likely there for mature/legacy purposes. It would also be tantalizing if the CentOS ISA SIG experimented with offering x86-64-v4 packages for AVX-512 servers.
