CompuLab IPC3, Testing 10 Mini PCs / Small Form Factor Linux PCs

The Core i7 7500U mobile processor is a dual-core / quad thread via HT part with a 2.7GHz base frequency and 3.5GHz boost frequency. There's a 4MB cache and the default TDP is 15 Watts. There's also a 2.9GHz configurable TDP-up frequency if raising the TDP to 25 Watts or with 7.5 Watts can be pushed to its TDP-down state of 800MHz. The i7-7500U has integrated HD Graphics 620 that can clock up to 1.05GHz and supports driving three displays simultaneously. With the IPC3 though is just an HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.2 slot.

The CompuLab IPC3 has two DDR4L SO-DIMMs for supporting up to 32GB of dual channel memory. For supporting up to three disks there is one SATA 3.0 port, one mSATA slot, and one M.2 slot.

A Realtek ALC886 audio codec provides the audio on this board, the Gigabit Ethernet ports are backed by Intel controllers.

At the rear of the IPC3 are the two 802.11ac WiFi antennas, audio jacks, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, DC 19V input for power, mini USB port for RS-232 connectivity, one HDMI port, one DisplayPort, and two Gigabit Ethernet ports.

As mentioned already, our FACE module on the front of this mini computer features four Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports as well as two more USB 2.0 ports, but a variety of other modules are available based upon your connectivity needs.

The IPC3 looks physically like the IPC2 and IPC, but with a lot more power thanks to leveraging Intel's latest-generation Kabylake processor.
