An Early Look At Debian 9.0 Performance vs. Debian 8.8, Ubuntu 17.04, CentOS 7, Clear Linux
The Intel HD Graphics 530 of the i5-6600K test system weren't even working out-of-the-box on Debian 8.8, but they do with Debian 9.0 testing. The performance though of the Intel graphics on Debian 9.0 is behind that of Intel's Clear Linux distribution, which is making use of Mesa 17.2-dev as well as a newer Linux kernel.
It's unfortunate that a newer Mesa 17.x build wasn't accepted into Debian 9 rather than the dated Mesa 13.0.
