Here are the raw results of the OpenCL performance with Ethminer for the 15 GPUs and Core i7 7700K CPU. Like under Windows, it's easy to see why the AMD Polaris cards are selling out so quickly for Ethereum mining... The AMD cards tested with the exception of the RX 560 were able to outperform a GTX 1080. As some surprise was the GTX 1070 beating the GTX 1080 and AMD cards, but that isn't a bug but rather due to characteristics of Ethminer the GTX 1070 does better than the GTX 1080 while the GTX 1080 Ti is in turn the fastest GPU tested. The GTX 1080 Ti was managing 31.5 MH/s while the RX 580 was at 22.1 MH/s and the R9 Fury at 24.8 MH/s.... The results also show that it's not worth running Ethminer on CPUs, but it's a fun benchmark anyways. With testing the GeForce GTX 780 Ti, we see that the newer Pascal or even Maxwell GPUs are better off than Kepler for Ether mining.

With the newer cards, here's a look at the performance-per-dollar... To no surprise the Radeon RX 580 and RX 560 "Polaris Evolved" cards provide great value and why the cards have been selling so quickly and commanding premium prices for the limited availability.
