Starting off with Team Fortress 2, the EVGA GeForce GT 740 Super Clocked 1GB graphics card was running roughly the same speed as the GTX 650, which in turn was a few frames faster than the GTX 550 Ti. This factory-overclocked GeForce GT 740 was still measurably slower than the GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti Maxwell-based GPUs. Compared to the AMD hardware, the HD 6770 with GDDR5 video memory was a few percent faster than the GT 740, but does appear to still retail for ~$120 USD.

The GeForce GT 740 installed in the Core i7 4770K Haswell system yielded an overall system power draw averaging out to 90 Watts when running Team Fortress 2. Meanwhile, the average power draw for the GTX 750 cards were 83~86 Watts.

The performance-per-Watt under Team Fortress 2 showed the EVGA GeForce GT 740 running at the same efficiency as the GTX 650 Kepler card and just behind the GTX 760 and HD 6770. The GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti Maxwell cards meanwhile were measurably more power efficient.

When running Team Fortress 2, the average temp of the GT 740 was 37 Celsius with a peak of 42 Celsius.
