When maxing out the image quality pre-set settings at 1080p, the GeForce GTX 780 Ti and higher were still running smoothly.

If wanting to run the game with ultra image quality settings at 1440p, the GeForce GTX 780 Ti or GTX 970 is where you'll want to be looking for starters.

Those are the initial results I have for benchmarking twelve NVIDIA graphics cards with F1 2015 on Ubuntu Linux. The game is certainly much more taxing on the hardware than under Windows. It will be interesting to see how these results compare to AMD once their RadeonSI Gallium3D or AMDGPU-PRO drivers are capable of running this Formula One racing game. Similar to other Feral game ports to Linux, hopefully future F1 2015 updates will deliver greater performance optimizations.

If you already own this game on Steam and want to see how the performance of your Linux system compares to the results in this article, simply install the Phoronix Test Suite and run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1605273-HA-F12015LIN25.
