Initial Fedora 32 vs. Fedora 33 Beta Benchmarks Point To Slightly Higher Performance
One of the areas where the out-of-the-box performance of Fedora Workstation 33 Beta is most apparent is for database and other heavy I/O workloads where Btrfs' copy-on-write nature will hinder the performance compared to EXT4. But Fedora Server 33 is keeping to XFS and those running heavy I/O workloads on Fedora Workstation 33 with Btrfs can also tune the Btrfs options or opt for an alternative file-system, but it's the Btrfs CoW support that is needed for various features like snapshots.
The Navi graphics performance didn't change a whole lot considering Fedora 33 updates brought the Mesa stack to 20.1.8. One area though seeing a nice boost out of Fedora Workstation 33 was the Vulkan-accelerated RealSR-NCNN workload for image upscaling.
