Where the Intel open-source OpenGL Linux driver stack began pulling ahead was in more of the desktop/workstation graphics scenarios. With the ParaView scientific visualization software, the Linux performance was much better on Linux than Windows with this Core i7-1065G7 laptop. Worth noting is that switching over to Intel's new Gallium3D OpenGL driver was a big boost to the performance compared to the default i965 OpenGL driver on Linux.

The Java OpenGL performance also did better on Linux than Windows 10 for the Ice Lake graphics. When switching over to the Iris Gallium3D driver, the performance was double that of the Windows results.

In the other Java tests the Iris Gallium3D

performance was comparable to the i965 driver performance but at least still leading over Windows.
