To no surprise given that this is a Source Engine game of similar intensity to Counter-Strike: Source/GO, the game could easily run at 1920 x 1080 on the tested NVIDIA GPUs under Ubuntu with the proprietary graphics drivers. Even the GTX 650 and GTX 750 were delivering above a 60 FPS average. The game does seem to run much better though for graphics cards with at least 2GB of video memory, considering in part the huge performance difference between the GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti.

At 2560 x 1440, the GTX 750 Ti and higher were delivering a playable experience while the GTX 650/750 were now well under 60 FPS.

At 4K for Insurgency on Linux, the GTX 750 Ti was barely hitting a 60 FPS average.

Long story short, Insurgency on Linux isn't too demanding and at least with the proprietary driver most NVIDIA graphics cards should be able to handle the game with ease. Only if playing at 4K will you really need a mid-range or higher graphics card for handling this game. You can learn more about yesterday's Insurgency game update via the NWI blog.
