Intel Core i3 2100 Sandy Bridge vs. Core i3 7100 Kabylake Performance

First up is comparing the i3-2100's HD Graphics 2000 vs. i3-7100 HD Graphics 630. Both of these integrated graphics solutions have a maximum frequency on these CPUs of 1.1GHz.

When running Xonotic with low quality settings to allow playable frame-rates on the Sandy Bridge system, the i3-7100 was almost twice as fast as the i3-2100. The maximum frame-rate of the i3-2100 was lower than the average frame-rate of the i3-7100.

The i3-7100 was almost twice as fast while consuming less power than the i3-2100....

So on a performance-per-Watt basis, the Core i3 7100 is also a big upgrade over the i3 2100.

With the more demanding Tesseract open-source game, the Core i3 7100's graphics performance was more than three times faster than the i3-2100.
