First up are a few browser benchmarks given the heavy reliance on web browsers these days especially among lower-end and mid-range desktops...

In the browser benchmarks, the Core i5 13400 was coming in faster than the prior generation Core i5 12400 as expected but shy of the Ryzen 5 7600 / 7600X performance.

JetStream 2 is arguably the best web browser benchmark at the moment and for both Firefox and Chrome the Core i5 13400 on Linux was slower than the Ryzen 5 7600 series competition but at least ahead of the prior Alder Lake i5-12400.

On a performance-per-dollar basis for running JetStream 2 with Chrome, the best value was with the Ryzen 5 7600X and Ryzen 5 7600 models.

For most of the web browser benchmarks, the Core i5 13400 was performing better than the Core i5 12400 as it should, but normally behind the Ryzen 5 7600 series as the similarly priced competition.
