For today's Linux benchmarking are first some results comparing the Pentium G4400 to the other Skylake CPUs within my possession: Core i5 6500 and Core i5 6600K. Following that are some thermal, power efficiency / performance-per-Watt, and performance-per-dollar benchmark results for these Skylake processors on Ubuntu Linux. First though for this initial Skylake Pentium Linux benchmarking are results comparing this $65 processor to almost three dozen other Linux systems in our test lab and as part of the LinuxBenchmarking.com performance monitoring infrastructure.

All of the Skylake systems were running Ubuntu 15.10 x86_64 with the Linux 4.4-rc2 kernel and Mesa 11.1-devel Git. All of the benchmarks for this Intel CPU comparison were facilitated via the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software.

Enjoy the results from this ~$60 Intel Skylake processor!
