First up are our usual automated, cross-platform OpenGL test suspects, before getting to the more exciting benchmark results.

First up with OpenArena it shows that while Ubuntu 16.04 out-of-the-box was slower than Windows 10 with the latest driver, when switching over to Linux 4.7 and Mesa 12.1-dev the performance of this game is noticeably faster than Windows 10 in its current form. The peak frame times were also much lower with the latest Intel Mesa driver.

While Unigine Heaven is still rather taxing on HD Graphics 530 hardware, for what it's worth, the Linux numbers still trailed Windows.

Unigine Valley is also a tough battle for current Intel graphics hardware. The Ubuntu Linux numbers were behind Windows, but at least with the very latest Git code there are improved numbers.
