The Xeon E3 1245 v5 right out of the gates in the CPU tests was coming in a bit faster than the Core i5 6600K due to having Hyper Threading and also an 8MB cache rather than 6MB.

The Xeon E5 2687W v3 and Core i7 5960X coming out faster isn't much of a surprise considering those CPUs have more cores while also costing more.

The Skylake CPUs outshine the Haswell CPUs for the FFTE benchmark.

Compared to the Xeon E3 1245 v5 running at 3.5GHz with 3.9GHz Turbo and 4+HT cores with 8MB cache, the i7-5960X has 8+HT cores and a 3GHz base frequency with 3.5GHz turbo with 20MB cache. The Xeon E5 2687W v3 has a 25MB cache, 10+HT cores, and 3.1GHz base frequency with 3.5GHz turbo.
