The Linux 3.0 Kernel With EXT4 & Btrfs

Btrfs on both systems was trying to push forward with the PostMark mail server benchmark, but it was unable to do so by a definitive length.

Under both SSD and HDD systems, the EXT4 file-system on the Linux 3.0 kernel continues to do better than Btrfs with the SQLite workload. This has been a long-standing area where EXT4 has led while Btrfs also loses with the PostgreSQL workload as well.

The Flexible I/O Tester performance was indifferent on the Sandy Bridge notebook while the old Pentium M system did slightly better when Ubuntu 11.04 was installed to an EXT4 file-system.
