For the most part these results aren't a huge surprise if you're a daily ready of Phoronix for the latest DRM/Mesa news and our other Git benchmarks of the open-source Linux graphics stack.

The Radeon HD 6870 continues running great for being the best R600g driver (better than the HD 6900 series due to the VLIW4 architecture that's less optimized in the open driver), the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver for HD 7000 series and newer hardware being in relatively good shape, and the NVIDIA performance still being a game of Russian Roulette depending upon the particular software configuration and GPU with how well re-clocking works and whether it will be a bug-free experience.
