In the aging BioShock Infinite Linux game port, switching to NIR provided slight performance gains for the RX 590 and RX Vega 56 but with lower minimum frame-rates. With the new Navi/GFX10 graphics, using NIR caused a minor performance regression.

With Deus Ex: Mankind Divided as one of the most demanding OpenGL Linux-native games, the NIR impact varied from no change in run-time performance to slightly lower performance.

DiRT Rally meanwhile provided a frame or two advantage with the NIR code path on RadeonSI Mesa 20.0.
