Memcached with Tau saw the best performance while the c2d-highcpu-8 instance trailed behind c3-highcpu-8. With EPYC Genoa having DDR5 memory, repeating this comparison with Genoa vs. Sapphire Rapids VMs should prove interesting.

With the GROMACS benchmark the Tau instance with its eight physical cores easily led while the C2D instance still showed competitiveness in coming between the C2 and C3 instances. On a performance-per-dollar basis the C2D nearly matched the C3 in value.

In raw performance and performance-per-dollar the AMD EPYC Milan C2D instance was particularly in good standing against the C3 VM.
