Nouveau "Boost" Patches Show Much Performance Potential
With the exception of the GTX 680 that didn't see its performance change, the GTX 760 and GTX 780 Ti were now multiple times faster with the re-clocking support via Karol Herbst's kernel tree. While the performance has improved and the GTX 780 Ti is now outperforming the GTX 680 on this unofficial open-source NVIDIA driver, the NVIDIA Linux 364 driver remains significantly faster.
With DiRT Showdown, the performance of the GTX 760 and GTX 780 Ti is now much closer to the proprietary driver than before with what's currently offered by the mainline Linux 4.6 kernel when manually re-clocking to the 0f performance state.
Yep, the boost patches really help out the GTX 760 and GTX 780 Ti with reaching their higher boost clock frequencies.
