NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 On Linux: Testing With OpenGL, OpenCL, CUDA & Vulkan

Next up is a look at the performance-per-Watt of the GeForce GTX 1070 compared to a few other cards.

The performance-per-Watt of the GTX 1070 is similar to that of the GTX 1080 and represents a very nice increase in power efficiency in going from Maxwell to Pascal.

With the demanding Unigine Valley, the GTX 1070 even edged out slightly ahead of the GTX 1070 for greater performance-per-Watt.

The GTX 1070 also does great in performance-per-Watt for the LuxMark OpenCL benchmark.

Here's a look at the system power consumption compared to the other graphics cards in these tests... The Xeon E3-1280 v5 system with the GTX 1070 had an average AC system power draw of 177 Watts with ap eak of 210 Watts while the GTX 1080 had an average of 188 Watts with a peak of 248 Watts.

During the testing process, the GTX 1070 temperature was slightly lower than the GTX 1080.
