NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Shows Very Strong Compute Performance Potential
In the Rodinia OpenCL test, the RX Vega 64 on ROCm worked but was much slower than the NVIDIA GPU performance.
While in the other Rodinia OpenCL benchmarks like the particle filter test, the RX Vega 64 wasn't running.
IndigoBench was hanging on the RX Vega 64 with ROCm 1.9 that appeared to happen during the CL kernel compilation process, similar to some of the LuxMark benchmarks. Indigo's supercar scene rendered about 69% faster with the RTX 2080 Ti while going from the GTX 980 Ti to GTX 1080 Ti was a 45% increase.
On a performance-per-Watt basis, the RTX 2080 Ti still represents a big improvement over the GTX 1080 Ti.
The Bedroom scene with IndigoBench also saw a very significant performance boost with the RTX 2080 Ti.
