Examination:

This cooler is huge! It looks large once pulling it out of the box, but that is before the Cryo LX is even folded out. The Cryo LX is made out of aluminum, except for rubber that goes along each side of the cooler to prevent the notebook from sliding around and to allow the device to be raised slightly off the aluminum surface for better airflow. There are slits in the rubber and aluminum for allowing plenty of air to hit the bottom-side of the notebook.

On the backside of the NZXT Cryo LX are five standard USB 2.0 ports and the +5V DC power adapter connector for use with the included USB cable. The fifth USB 2.0 port is used for connecting to the notebook while the other four USB 2.0 ports will operate as a USB hub for any notebook peripherals.

Flipping over the NZXT Cryo LX the three 120mm fans are visible. A small dial on the side of the cooler controls these three fans. Unfortunately, this dial does not allow the fans to be switched off, which means you will need to just unplug the USB cable if you do not want the fans to be powered on for a period of time. On the bottom of the cooler are a few pieces of rubber to prevent this cooler from sliding around on flat surfaces.

The overall construction of the NZXT Cryo LX is fantastic, but let us see how it performs.
