Radeon Gaming/Graphics Performance: Windows 11 vs. Linux GPU Benchmarks
While not a game, GravityMark works well as a modern cross-API graphics benchmark that runs on all major operating systems. GravityMark is quite GPU demanding, works very well, and is freely available. It looks like the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver on Linux still has room to improve compared to the proprietary Radeon OpenGL driver on Windows...
But quite interestingly, when it comes to the Vulkan support with GravityMark for the new Radeon RX 7900 XTX it was experiencing faster performance on Linux with the Radeon RX 7900 XTX than Windows.
At 4K too, the Vulkan performance for the Radeon RX 7900 XTX was faster on Linux than the Radeon Software Windows driver.
While the Mesa RADV driver had a late start in supporting the Vulkan ray-tracing extensions, it was very fascinating to see such great performance out of the open-source graphics driver stack on Linux relative to the Windows performance.
