RadeonSI's Mesa Shader Cache Can Be A Big Help To Modern Linux Games
With ultra quality settings for HITMAN on Linux, the in-game performance was the same while the load-times appear to be quicker.
The RadeonSI shader cache didn't appear to benefit Metro: Last Light Redux.
The RadeonSI shader cache also appeared to help Civilization VI on Linux with its load-times.
Those are the initial results I have available today for the recent landing of the RadeonSI shader cache in Mesa Git. Great job to Arceri and those involved with the Mesa shader cache support. I'll have additional metrics available shortly while multi-tasking between this and the AMD Ryzen testing, etc. As always, if you like all that I do for Linux benchmarking, consider jumping to Phoronix Premium.
