Reiser4 Benchmarked On Linux 3.5 Against EXT4, Btrfs, XFS, ReiserFS
When starting off with the Flexible IO Tester, to some surprise, Reiser4 was the fastest file-system and came out noticeably ahead of EXT4 -- the fastest of the tested mainline file-systems. Btrfs was noticeably slower than the rest for FIO.
For FS-Mark when doing the 1000 file operation of 1MB size, EXT4 and XFS were the fastest followed by Reiser4, then Btrfs, and ReiserFS in a noticeable last place.
When moving to four threads with FS-Mark, Reiser4 and ReiserFS were the slowest file-systems.
Reiser4 pulled ahead of Btrfs when dealing with multiple sub-directories, but XFS and EXT4 were still faster.
