Reiser4 Benchmarked On Linux 3.5 Against EXT4, Btrfs, XFS, ReiserFS
Reiser4 had a rare performance win when it came to the initial create test with Compile Bench.
The Reiser4 performance was close to Btrfs for the PostMark mail server benchmark.
The Reiser4 file-system benchmarks from the Linux 3.5 kernel aren't particularly interesting and in a majority of the test cases the file-system conceived by Hans Reiser gets whooped by the already mainline EXT4, Btrfs, and XFS file-systems. From a technical perspective, Btrfs continues to hold more hope for becoming the leading next-generation Linux file-system rather than the out-of-tree Reiser4.
