Moving past the Radeon 680M graphics tests and looking more at CPU/system performance, the race was more competitive between Windows and Linux for this AMD Rembrandt laptop. Surprisingly for the NAMD molecular dynamics package it was showing better performance under Windows than Linux.

For WebP image encoding using Google's reference library, the Ubuntu performance was faster than Windows.
