For today's Linux testing the following processors were tested:

- Core i5 10600K
- Core i9 10900K
- Ryzen 5 3600X
- Ryzen 5 3600XT
- Ryzen 7 3800XT
- Ryzen 9 3900X
- Ryzen 9 3900XT
- Ryzen 9 3950X
- Ryzen 9 5900X
- Ryzen 9 5900XT

The AMD CPUs were tested with the ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO WiFi, a Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card was used given its popularity among Linux gamers and open-source drivers, 2 x 8GB DDR4-3600 Corsair memory throughout, 2TB Corsair Force MP600 NVMe solid-state drive, and all processors were freshly re-tested using Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS with all available updates plus the Linux 5.9 kernel.

Finding workloads -- mostly single-threaded tasks -- where the Core i9 10900K Comet Lake processor led over the Ryzen 9 3900 series was now a different story with the Ryzen 9 5900 series... Even workloads like with OpenJDK Java where Intel has long had the upperhand in many common benchmarks over AMD are no longer the case with Zen 3. The Ryzen 9 5900 series was now dominating in nearly every test....
