AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Make For Compelling Budget Servers, Leading Performance & Value Over Xeon E
Thanks to AVX-512 with Zen 4, DDR5 memory, and other improvements with the Ryzen 7000 series, these new AMD processors can work out quite well if after a 16-core / 32-thread server or less for evaluating HPC codes.
The 3D V-Cache members of the Ryzen 7000 series are also quite capable if wanting experiment with performance optimizations without yet investing into a higher-end Genoa-X server. The Xeon E-2300 series processors do not come close to being competitive to AMD Zen 4 in these workloads.
