I don't have much more to add right now but should I run into any issues with this Silicon Power SP60 SSD on Linux in the future, I'll be sure to post an update in the future. The system with this SSD will soon be commissioned for its daily performance tracking benchmarks over at LinuxBenchmarking.com.

The performance is acceptable to me for this test system that's not running disk/file-system sensitive workloads on a routine basis, but compared to the other low-cost SSDs, the Silicon Power SSD had a decent showing. If you're interested in this SSD, you can find it at Amazon.com for $50. If you want to see how one of your own Linux system's disk performance compares to the results shown in this article, simply install the Phoronix Test Suite and run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1507268-BE-SOLIDSTAT28.
