Going from Linux 5.13 to 5.15 can yield some changes to various kernel-sensitive benchmarks but overall not as exciting as if Linux 5.16 or 5.17 had made it into the Jammy Jellyfish.

The newer Zstd of Ubuntu 21.10/22.04 can really help out in some areas. Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is still using Zstd 1.4.8.

The Ryzen 9 5950X performance was fairly stable on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS compared to 21.10 due to AMD Zen 3 support already being rather mature even going back to launch time with just the late Znver3 support in GCC 11.

But if you still are running Ubuntu 20.04 and just jump between LTS releases, you are more likely to see some uplift out of your Ryzen 5000 series desktop.
