NVIDIA GeForce: Windows 10 vs. Ubuntu 15.04 Linux OpenGL Benchmarks
Well, those are the results of this simpler OpenGL Windows 10 vs. Linux comparison to complement the cross-platform Shadow of Mordor benchmarks earlier in the week. At least with these results, Windows didn't offer any compelling advantage over Linux, with the lone exception being the Xonotic results. If I hear back from NVIDIA with their hypothesis about the staggering difference, I'll update accordingly. With the OpenArena test, the Linux installation meanwhile had slightly better performance. In the rest of the tests, the performance was largely the same between Windows and Linux as we're used to seeing with NVIDIA's high-quality proprietary driver that's a largely shared code-base across platforms.
