For the Radeon R9 Fury the open-source driver was faster than AMDGPU-PRO. In addition, the open-source driver performance was on par with the Windows 10 performance via Radeon Software Crimson Edition. However, the RX 480 was slower with the open-source driver than AMDGPU-PRO and a greater distance to compete with the current Windows driver.

With the very basic OpenArena game, the Linux performance is faster than under Windows. With this GL2 game, the performance between AMDGPU-PRO and Mesa is close for both of the tested Radeon graphics cards.

With Metro Last Light Redux, the Windows 10 and AMDGPU-PRO results were close while this is one of the rare games where the RadeonSI Gallium3D performance is much faster than the closed-source AMD OpenGL driver code... We've seen this a few times now with the performant state Mesa has started maturing into over the past few months.
