Matrox is out with new professional graphics cards in their new C-Series product line-up. These new graphics cards designed for driving multiple displays -- including a quad-output fan-less graphics card -- will be supported under Linux.

The Matrox C420 is a PCI Express graphics card supporting four display outputs while being fanless. The Matrox C680 meanwhile is a high performance, actively cooled, six output graphics card. Both of these Matrox C-Series graphics cards have 2GB of video memory and use mini DisplayPorts for connectivity.

The Matrox C680 graphics card is also compatible with 4K outputs while the C420 model is not. These cards are equipped with AMD GPUs capable of OpenGL 4.4 and OpenCL 1.2. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find out too many details about their AMD-based GPU designs for these new professional graphics cards for digital signs and other purposes.

Matrox says the C420 and C680 will be supported under Windows and Linux though any Linux driver details are unknown at this time. The graphics cards will become available through retail channels in Q4'2014 while more details can be learned via the Matrox press release.
