NVIDIA 367.27 Linux Driver Released As Stable With VDPAU Feature Set H

NVIDIA has released the 367.27 Linux driver as their first stable release in the 367 driver series.

This driver is their first official 367 long-lived driver update and carries over the work from the earlier beta. That earlier work includes GeForce GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 Pascal support along with a wide variety of fixes. Besides the addition of NVIDIA GTX 1000 Pascal support, the 367 driver series is mostly about fixing outstanding issues to further polish up this binary blob.

One of the changes that is new to the 367.27 driver include support for VDPAU Feature Set F. VDPAU Feature Set H is found with the new GTX 1070/1080 and adds in support for decoding of 8K (8192 x 8192) H.265/HEVC video streams. The 367.27 driver also has a fix where the X Server sometimes skipped displaying Vulkan frames when the Composite extension is enabled, a bug leading to a system crash, and a bug that caused kernel panics on Linux 4.5+ when the kernel was built with CONFIG_DEBUG_VM_PGFLAGS.
