Mobile Optimizations Coming For Phoronix
Following the rollout of the new Phoronix.com server and HTTPS support, mobile optimizations to the site are next on my lengthy TODO list.
This morning I've begun working on some basic mobile layout optimizations for Android and iOS users. There should be some immediate improvements in the mobile browsing experience while more work will come later today, tomorrow, and in the days ahead. With Phoronix being powered by our own PHXCMS content management system and my busy workload, it's taken quite some time to finally get around to such improvements.
On the agenda for Sunday is hopefully upgrading to vBulletin 5 for the forums and working out that new theme. VBulletin 5 should be more mobile friendly and hopefully eliminate the issues Phoronix readers have voiced in recent days about HTTPS messing up the support in the forums.
Stay tuned for further updates. Feedback is welcome or if you're playing around with any CSS improvements to Phoronix yourself, offer your web design services, etc. If you wish to support Phoronix and its mission of enriching the Linux hardware experience over the past nearly 11 years, please consider subscribing to Phoronix Premium or a PayPal tip.
