On 5 June we celebrate the 13th birthday of Phoronix.com as well as 9 years since the release of Phoronix Test Suite 1.0. In celebration, for the next week we are running a great deal on our ad-free, multi-page-articles-on-a-single-page, while supporting our site "Premium" subscription.

Advertisements remain the primary source of income for allowing Phoronix to continue operating over 13 years. It's the only way this site can continue with my working on it single-handedly up to and over 100 hour work weeks, not taking a single day off in years, continue developing the Phoronix Test Suite / Phoromatic / OpenBenchmarking.org, continue to buy hardware components for benchmarking when not supplied by the vendor as review samples (Radeon RX 580 / RX 560 / RX 550, are just among the examples in the past month), etc. Following advertisements, supporting our efforts while allowing users to have an ad-free, convenient experience is Phoronix Premium.

Normally it costs $35 USD per year to enjoy our ad-free, single page articles service as the primary benefits for you along with supporting our work. There's also the occasional premium-only articles, priority access to me for feedback if requesting certain tests/benchmarks, and other benefits. But for now through the end of day 7 June (PST time) you can join Phoronix Premium for just $25 USD for a year's subscription, a significant savings. Alternatively, you can get Phoronix Premium for life for $100 USD, compared to the usual lifetime subscription price of $150.

More details via the Phoronix Premium page if you don't happen to be familiar with this offering that's been available for years.

To take advantage of this birthday deal, first ensure you are registered on the Phoronix Forums as the forums are what handles the subscription/user management aspect. There isn't any integrated sales support in there so the normal prices of premium subscriptions are listed there still. To get the discounted deals of $25 for a year subscription or $100 for a lifetime subscription, PayPal the amount of money to [email protected] (or you can use this PayPal link; also accepted is Bitcoin payments in which case email me to the above address once you've made the equivalent payment in BTC). Sending any amount extra will be treated as a birthday tip, thanks! Then within a few minutes (or hours, if I'm sleeping), I'll manually have activated your forum account to premium status. If your payment email address is different from your forum's registered email address, please include your forum username when making the payment.

If you are already a premium member, you can extend your subscription at the birthday rates, just mention it in the email / PayPal message. Thanks for your support and the funds generated will allow Phoronix to continue providing daily open-source news and Linux benchmarks. For the Phoronix birthday week are a number of interesting articles planned! If anyone has any questions about this birthday deal, feel free to email me or comment in the forums.

Google Wallet: following interest, if you prefer paying via Google Wallet, payments can be sent to [email protected].
