The Xeon E5-1680 v3 was the fastest tested CPU for running Blender on the CPU. Though in 2017, most serious Blender users are likely running Blender on their GPU.

The Ryzen 7 1800X was able to secure another victory with the SciKit-Learn benchmark.

While these results are largely being put out for reference purposes of these Intel/AMD CPUs atop Ubuntu 17.04 with Linux 4.12, for those wondering the breakdown:
