While EPYC allows for more cores/threads than Xeon Scalable Cascadelake, if simply looking at the single-threaded performance with the Python and PHP performance, Cascadelake remains positioned ahead of Rome. But it's also interesting to note the generational improvement made over Naples and obviously Rome can allow for running more scripts in parallel thanks to its core/thread advantage.

With the new Geekbench 5 multi-core benchmark, a single EPYC 7642 was able to match the Xeon Platinum 8280 dual processor configuration.
