FreeBSD ZFS vs. Linux EXT4/Btrfs RAID With Twenty SSDs
With the basic SQLite embedded database benchmark, ZFS on FreeBSD 12 was faster than Linux with either EXT4 or Btrfs. Btrfs with its default copy-on-write behavior led to noticeably slower performance. With the SQLite benchmark, RAID isn't beneficial for performance.
FreeBSD ZFS storage performance was much faster than EXT4 and Btrfs on Linux.
FreeBSD ZFS RAIDZ performance was the best for sequential writes with FIO while the Linux RAID options were noticeably slower though Btrfs native SSD RAID did come out much faster than the EXT4 RAID options.
